The publication is a result of the work of an interdisciplinary team composed of professional co-workers of the YuCRC, Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia. The report offers a comprehensive analysis of the situation as well as priority needs of each individual institution. Accompanying the publication is a documentary film with footage illustrating the current state.

The handbook represents one of the initial phases in the creation of a systematic and methodological basis for work on problems of child abuse. As a result of a research, its aim is to base the right of the child to protection from abuse on more closely defined professional standards and procedures as well as to create the methodological basis for the building of a social network, i.e. linking and compliance of activities of all actors in the protection of children from abuse.
